The Transition Movement is a vibrant, grassroots movement that seeks to build community resilience in the face of such challenges as peak oil, climate change and the economic crisis. It represents one of the most promising ways of engaging people in strengthening their communities against the effects of these challenges, resulting in a life that is more abundant, fulfilling, equitable and socially connected. Building safe, non-violent communities free of gun violence.We need to stop the slaughter of our children and other innocent people, including our police officers, by the easy availability of automatic weapons. We need to make it harder for convicted felons, the dangerously mentally ill, and other prohibited persons to obtain guns by implementing strong gun laws and policies that will protect our families and communities from gun violence. We need to bring to light, radically change and end the glorification of gun violence that undermines the moral fabric of our society.
